FIRE DEPARTMENT
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Classes
The Mansfield Fire Department offers FREE, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes once a month to Mansfield residents and to those who work in Mansfield. The FREE CPR class is the American Heart Association Heartsaver/AED course. If you are neither a Mansfield resident or do not work in Mansfield, there is a fee of $45 to take the class.
We also offer the BLS Healthcare Provider class quarterly and there is also a fee of $45 for this course.
Fire Department personnel - certified as CPR instructors by the American Heart Association - teach techniques for one-rescuer CPR for infants, children and adults. Also covered in class is how to assist someone who is choking and the proper operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Each four-hour class is typically held on the first Saturday morning of each month, beginning at 8:00 a.m., unless otherwise stated. Class size is limited to 20 people. CPR classes are held at Station 3, located at 3100 E. Broad Street. All participants must be registered in advance by contacting the Training Lieutenant - Steve Gutierrez at (817) 804-5772.
