FIRE DEPARTMENT
PROGRAMS
The Fire Prevention Division is charged with educating citizens of all ages, to recognize potential hazards and take appropriate corrective action. Through this educational process our aim is to keep our citizens safe from fire and minimize property damage loss.
To assist us with our public education programs we use a mobile fire safety house, clowns and puppets, fire safety materials and handouts and public education presentations.
Fire & Safety Clowns
The Mansfield Fire Prevention Clowns were organized in 2003 to assist the Prevention Division in the area of public education. Originally they consisted of four Mansfield Fire Department fire fighters who volunteered as clowns and two staff members.
Today the total staff is seven and that accounts for our new puppeteer. That first year they performed in front of over 10,000 kids and adults. They are true experts at creating fun filled and energetic learning environments about fire safety and other life safety related topics. They are frequently referred to as the "HOTTEST SHOW IN MANSFIELD."
