ANIMAL CONTROL QUESTIONS

What is considered an emergency call?
A sick or injured animal, loose livestock, wild animal inside a residence, aggressive animals, Animal Bite Cases, and Police or Fire assistance.
What are the fees for adopting an animal?
Cats - Maximum of $70
Dogs - Maximum of $70
Does my animal need to be vaccinated?
The state of Texas requires that your animal be vaccinated against rabies.
The City of Mansfield recommends that your animal receive all of the preventative vaccinations. All vaccinations should be administered by a Licensed Veterinarian.
How many dogs and/or cats are allowed per household?
The legal is limit four dogs or four cats but not to exceed the combined total of six such animals over the age of eight weeks.
I found a cat (or dog); how can I find its owner?
Call Mansfield Animal Control at 817-276-4799 to find out if the pet has been reported as missing. If so, animal control will attempt to contact the possible owner(s). If you wish to hold on to the pet for a few days to see if the owner turns up, you should leave a found report. Otherwise, you may bring the pet to the center or request that the animal be picked up.
I found an injured animal; what do I do?
All questions involving injured animals should be referred to Animal Control at 817-276-4799.
