Seeking Applicants To Fill Board And Commission Vacancies
The City of Mansfield is looking for a few good men, and women, to take active roles in city government by serving on city boards and commissions. "Volunteers are important to any city and those serving on our boards and commissions play a vital role in helping shape our community," said Mayor David L. Cook. "The more citizens are involved, the better."
Applications are now being accepted through 5 p.m. Friday, July 30, in the City Secretary's Office. The boards seeking applications are Planning & Zoning Commission, Mansfield Economic Development Corporation, Mansfield Park Facilities Development Corporation, Library Advisory Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Historic Landmark Commission and Keep Mansfield Beautiful Commission. Residents interested in applying may download an application or come by the City Secretary's Office at City Hall, 1200 E. Broad St.

Notice Of Tax Revenue Increase
The City of Mansfield conducted public hearings on August 11, 2008 and August 19, 2008 on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the CITY OF MANSFIELD from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 1.76 percent.
The total tax revenue raised last year at last year's tax rate of $0.69 for each $100 of taxable value was $25,567,539.
The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.71 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $25,498,983.
The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.71 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $27,159,917.
The Mansfield City Council is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at public meetings to be held on August 25, 2008 at 7 p.m., August 26, 2008 at 8 a.m. and August 27, 2008 at 8 a.m. at Mansfield City Hall Council Chambers, 1200 E. Broad Street, Mansfield, Texas.
