Post details: "Leave No Litter Behind" Campaign
"Leave No Litter Behind" Campaign

Cigarette butts, plastic bottles, paper and styrofoam cups, tires, diapers, glass bottles, and everything else that gets thrown on the ground have one thing common, LITTER. It is all litter. And it is all washed into our storm drains, creeks, ponds, or Joe Pool Lake when it rains.

As part of the Leave No Littler Behind campaign, two new programs are being launched this summer. The Storm Drain Marking Program is designed to place a marker on storm drain inlets to remind people that they are not a trash can. More information about the marking program can be found here.

The Neighborhood Beautification Program provides the opportunity for concerned residents to host their own local cleanup event. Many supplies and other support are available. To learn more about this program check here.
