- All current activities are listed MAC brochure and newsletter.
- Do you offer tax preparation services?
- The City of Mansfield partners with AARP who provides a qualified tax preparer from February 1 to April 15 for free tax return preparation for seniors and low income individuals. Appointments are made through the senior activities office.
Situational Questions
- My parent is in a wheelchair, has had a stroke and cannot feed himself. Can he come to the senior center?
- Seniors who come to the center must be able to take care of their own personal needs, such as going to the restroom and feeding themselves, or have a caretaker with them at all times. We welcome all levels of ability.
TRANSPORTATION QUESTIONS
- I have to work and my mother doesn't drive. How can she come to the senior center?
- We have a 21 passenger bus that will pick her up in the morning and bring her to the center and then take her home in the afternoons after lunch. The bus has a handicap lift if needed for wheelchairs.
MEAL QUESTIONS
- I cannot afford to pay for my lunch. Can I come to the senior center?
- The recommended lunch donation is $2.00 for seniors over the age of 60 and $5 for persons under 60. No senior is turned away because they cannot pay.
- How do I make a lunch reservation?
- You may call the MAC from 9:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m. to make a reservation for lunch. It must be called in by 12:00 p.m. the day prior. Many times we have cancellations and you can call or come the day of and expect to eat most times. We also have clipboards with each day of the week labeled that you sign up on at the reception table.
- Are the meals prepared at the MAC?
- No. A central kitchen prepares meals for 29 other senior centers in Tarrant County and delivers them to us daily. This nutrition program is partially funded by the Senior Citizens Services of Greater Tarrant County, The United Way, and the Area Agency on Aging.
