CITY OF MANSFIELD PARK PLANNING
Park Planning is the first phase of a project which fits into the broad vision of the City's Strategic Growth plan. Planning for parks relies heavily on the Parks Master Plan adopted in 2002. The purpose of the plan is to provide direction and set priorities for growth of the park system based upon the growth of the community.
It is intended to guide city staff and city leaders in determining where and how parks funding should be allocated over the next five years. Planning for parks starts with land acquisition and proceeds through the determination of what type of park would be developed where.
Planning ends when the physical park design of the facility begins. This process is generally ongoing throughout the year.
