MANSFIELD CLEAN WATER PROJECT
CREEKSIDE CLEANUP AND COOKOUT
The Creekside Cleanup and Cookout is the Clean Water Project's Annual Fall cleanup extravaganza. It gives volunteers the opportunity to clean up an area near a waterway, and have a good time.
So far, volunteers have helped remove almost 70 tires, and over 2,500 lbs. of litter during past 2 cleanups.
This was an extraordinary success!!
If you are interested in participating in the cleanup this year:
Here is a factsheet with the time, location and tips.
And here is a registration form. Forms can be turned in the day of the event, or early.
Thanks to all of the volunteers for their hard work and community dedication. Removing the debris from the stream banks and park area kept these items from entering our waterways and causing aesthetic, environmental and health problems.
The commitment demonstrated by the volunteers shows that the community is willing to fight back against the litterers and dumpers who decide to trash our wonderful natural resources.
Please remember that "Don't Mess With Texas" means keep our roads, parks, creeks, and water clean.
Some of the odd items that were removed in the past:
- Stand-up deep freezer
- Motorized child's 4 wheel ATV toy
- Roll of roofing felt
- Large nail salon sign
