LAKES SURROUNDING MANSFIELD
Outdoor recreation is a Texas staple and Mansfield is fortunate to be located in an area of the state with dozens of lakes and wildlife areas.
A portion of Mansfield on its southeast side is bordered by Joe Pool Lake, a 7,500-acre reservoir. There are more than 300 developed and walk-in campsites, as well as 15 miles of biking trails. A marina, located on the Grand Prairie side of the lake, features boat docks, rentals and a restaurant. A lake is located in Cedar Hill State Park, with camping, fishing and other amenities.
There are lakes in several other surrounding communities including Lake Arlington in Arlington, Benbrook Lake in Benbrook, Eagle Mountain Lake and Lake Worth in Fort Worth, Lake Grapevine in Grapevine, Lewisville Lake in Lewisville, White Rock Lake in Dallas and Lake Ray Hubbard in Garland.
