KMBC ADOPT-A-STREET PROGRAM

KMBC Logo

The Adopt-A-Street program is an excellent way for local businesses, civic groups, or individuals to help Keep Mansfield Beautiful by pledging to cleanup segments of roadways.

A brief flyer for the program is available here.

WHAT IS REQUIRED?

Are there any roadway segments left?

Check this map to see which roadways have already been adopted. If a roadway has not been adopted, it is available, unless it is a State controlled highway or farm-to-market road, because the City cannot place signs on those types of roadways. For the State Adopt-a-Highway program follow this link.

  1. Select a segment of road, approximately 1 mile in length.
  2. Complete a registration form.
  3. Organize a cleanup of the adopted area at least three times per year.
  4. Report the numbers of garbage bags filled and participants to the Stormwater Manager.
  5. Enjoy your hard work every time you drive by and see the roadway free of litter.
What resources are available?

The Keep Mansfield Beautiful Commission and Clean Water Project will provide traffic cones, garbage bags, litter tongs, sun block, bug spray, and latex gloves for the cleanup events, as well as other items to help with your cleanup effort. These items are provided in exchange for the litter information.

Additionally, a factsheet on how to organize your cleanup and safety measures to keep in mind during your cleanup are also available.

You can report your clean up results to the Stormwater Manager.
